Both Virgin drivers will receive a five-place grid penalty in Spain after the team failed to notify the FIA of their intended gear ratios in time.
Under the sporting regulations, teams must report their intended gear ratios to the FIA’s technical delegate within two hours of the end of first practice on Friday.
Hispania’s Karun Chandhok will also receive a five-place penalty after his team broke the seals on his gearbox on Friday.
