Force India are the first affected team to adhere to the new ban on outboard mirrors which comes into effect in the Spanish GP in three weeks time.
The ban, which was added to the regulations after the Australian GP was meant to come into effect for this weekends race in China, but the six affected teams; Ferrari, Red Bull, Williams, Force India, Sauber and Hispania complained to the FIA that this timeframe wasn’t long enough to revise the design.
The regulation has been introduced after several drivers, most notably Michael Schumacher, complained of drivers blocking others because cars with outboard mirrors were unable to see behind them thanks to the vibrations travelling through the mirrors.
The ban will now be introduced in Spain, where all teams must run monocoque mounted mirrors.
