Willi Weber, the long-time manager of Michael Schumacher, his brother, Ralf Schumacher (until 2005) and current F1 rookie, Nico Hulkenberg is facing jail after committing fraudulent activities in 2002.
The 68-year-old was handed a £635,000 (€720,000) fine and a hefty probation period after moving money and assets from one of his companies, Pole Position Merchandising, then declaring the company insolvent.
He will now face the German courts to defend his case, the German newspaper, Express reports.
Mr Weber is confident they will rule in his favour, despite the seriousness of the allegations against him.
“The court will examine objectively the allegations, and I am confident of a positive outcome in my favor.”
