It’s reported that Prodrive are once again evaluating whether or not they should apply for a grid slot for the 2011 season after the FIA opened up a tender process to find a USF1 replacement.
Autoweek reports that the British team is “actively evaluating a new bid to create a Formula One team after a board meeting heard the pros and cons from commercial director Tony Schulp.”
The team missed out on a 2010 position, most likely due to the fact they didn’t plan to use the Cosworth engine. This is the same reason the Lola team, who also applied for 2010, missed out on a grid slot.
So far, only Epsilon Euskadi have confirmed an official entry. Any entries made by Prodrive and possibly Lola won’t be confirmed until the tender process has closed on April 15th.
