Lotus Racing have announced a new sponsorship deal with Maxis Berhad, the leading mobile phone communications company in Malaysia.
The team is embarking on a busy round of promotional activity as it prepares for it’s home grand prix in Malaysia this weekend, despite being based in Norfolk, UK. The team is funded by the Malaysian government and Malaysian businessman Tony Fernandes, with future plans to base it’s factory just outside the Sepang circuit.
Sandip Das, Maxis Berhad Chief Executive Officer said about the deal: “Maxis is pleased to broaden its sports involvement through the sponsorship of the Lotus Racing Team in Formula One. This is the pride of the nation and as the leading and most innovative Malaysian Telco, which is also globally respected, we wanted to be a part of this wonderful Malaysia moment.
“Maxis’ commitment to Lotus Racing promises to deliver a more integrated F1 experience to our customers with immediate access to the latest racing news and information via their mobile phones, wherever and whenever they want. In addition, lucky Maxis customers will have the exclusive opportunity of watching the Sepang Grand Prix live this coming weekend compliments of Maxis.”
