Monza has secured a four year extension to it’s race contract which will see F1 continue to lap at the historic circuit.
The F1 Times understand Bernie Ecclestone has agreed to keep the Italian GP at Monza until 2016, despite the expected arrival of a Rome GP in 2012.
It was thought Rome would replace Monza as the Italian race, however, with reports that both will take place in 2012 and beyond, rumours are now suggesting Valencia could lose it’s status as the European GP – which would be given to Rome.
That may be a welcome move by F1 fans, as Valencia has failed to deliver much excitement since it’s inception in 2008.
