Nico Rosberg ended practice two quickest, whilst many others focused on longer runs. His teammate came in third fastest, split by the McLaren of Lewis Hamilton.

Hamilton suffered tyre wear problems on his longer runs, which could be of some concern come the race.

Sebastien Buemi suffered a scary moment when he pirouetted after losing control in sector two. He managed to control the car, narrowly avoiding the barrier.

Bruno Senna managed to dip below the GP2 Asia times from earlier on Friday morning, but remained just under three seconds off the pace of the slowest Lotus.

Unfortunately for Karun Chandhok, he didn’t manage to get any running on Friday, meaning he will have just one hour to practice, set-up and familiarise himself with the Hispania car before competing in qualifying on Saturday.
