Tony Fernandes, Max Mosley and Michael Schumacher have all come out in support of the new teams after last week’s rant by Ferrari.
Richard Branson expressed his views when he arrived in Barcelona, calling Ferrari ‘sad’, and now Branson’s rival, in both the Airline business and Formula One, has backed him in his views.
Fernandes wrote on Twitter: “Wonder what Ferrari would be like on Virgin’s budget.” After Branson told the press that they were running on just 10% of Ferrari’s budget.
Mosley’s reaction was predictable. He told the British media that Ferrari are like “a frumpy old woman at a dance who sees a couple of pretty young girls come in and they resent it”.
Whilst Mercedes driver, Michael Schumacher has also disagreed with his former employer.
“Actually I think they are doing reasonably well,” Schumacher said when asked about the new teams.
“I think for teams that have started completely from scratch I think they are doing a very good job.”
