Silverstone circuits have confirmed they will use the new Arena layout after agreeing the new layout with the FIA and Formula One Management.
The altered layout, which sees the lap increase from 3.19 miles to 3.66 miles was developed for the Moto GP race which will also take place at the Northamptonshire track.
Although the distance will increase by just under half a mile, the lap times are expected to be little over four seconds slower. The new Arena area, which starts before Abbey will see the introduction of three new potential overtaking places, before leading back into the Becketts complex.
