Miami GP organisers score minor victory

The Miami Grand Prix scored a minor victory on Wednesday when members of the Board of County Commissioners of Miami Dade County failed to overturn the mayor's veto on decisions which were designed to make life difficult for the Miami Dolphins as the organisation works to create an event around its Hard Rock Stadium.

Tom Garfinkel, the man leading the project, says that his organisation will work closely with the local community to solve any problems the race may create in Miami Gardens.

The commissioner for the area was leading the opposition to the event, but the hurdles she tried to create were thrown out by the mayor because of the benefits he believes the race will bring to the county.
